About Lori

Lori Klassen, Klassen Studios

Lori Klassen has been involved in making art in the Toronto community for the last 19 years. Her artwork has been described a "full of intensity, drama and sensuality" — not surprising considering she began her artistic journey as a singer, performing on operatic and concert stages across Canada and Europe. On a whim, she took a summer class in acrylic painting from a school called "Artworks — Art for the Terrified", and her passion for painting was born. She has since taken courses at the Toronto School of Art, and has studied and worked for Ritins Studio, Lori Le Mare Studio, and Masterpieces. She has exhibited work in the inaugural Riverdale Art Walk, the Queen West Art Crawl, and has had solo shows across Toronto.

Fine art

Lori exhibits her paintings and works at Studio Fuse, a gallery/studio space at the historic Distillery District (Case Goods Warehouse, Building #74, Suite 110, 55 Mill Street, Toronto). Hours are 12-5 pm Wednesday to Sunday, or by appointment. Drop in to watch her work in progress, choose a finished piece or to chat about colour consultations.

Decorative touch

Lori worked for WTN's "Divine Design" with Candice Olson as a behind-the-scenes decorative artist. In addition to running her own colour consultation and decorative paint business, Lori continues to collaborate with other artists on decorative projects including Catherine Mills of Decorum Decorative Painting and Lori LeMare of Lori LeMare Studios. Through Klassen Studios, she continues to accept work on decorative art projects, including murals, trompe l'oeil and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces.

Lori and her handiwork will appear in a second-season episode of "Candice Tells All" on WTN this summer.

Commissioned art

Lori warmly accepts commissions to paint portraits of loved ones, favourite spaces, special homes or pets — beautiful gifts that have always been dearly received.
